Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
He rescued 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
